JUTE Theatre Company is calling for expressions of interest for Students - Ages 15 to 17 years to audition for the JUTE Actors Studio (JASX) Extension Program.

JASX, an intensive one-year program designed specifically for teenage actors to follow a professional pathway, gather critical skills to support their development as a theatre practitioner, and gain insights into working and thriving in the theatre industry.

The successful 8 students will need to commit to two semesters (February 7 to June 25 and July 11 to November 27), with tuition from two leading professional facilitators, two hours evey Monday evening and two hours evey Saturday morning. Two full days of actor's boot camp with special guest drama skills facilitators during the June schoold holidays, picking up specialist acting skills, for example stage combat and accents. Total of over 160 hours of professional tuition.

Cost: $3975 + GST. Broken into 4 payments or payment plan as arranged.

The year will culminate in a professional seasom of a new work for young people performed by the actors and part of the official JUTE annual performance season.

Studio C, Bulmba-ja Arts Centre, 96 Abbott Street, Cairns

Time - 9.30am to 11.30am

Actors should prepare two contrasting monologues for the adition. We will be in contact with you further about your audition piece.
